EXPLORE

A huge aspect of studying abroad is being open to trying new cuisines. Each country around the world has their own dishes that make them unique. Familiarize yourself with the types of foods that will be present in your study abroad destination and make a list of what you are interested in trying. Don’t hesitate to try foods that might sound a little crazy because a huge part of traveling is eating like the locals! Be mindful when eating out or shopping at the supermarkets. It can be fun to sample the local snacks and brands of food that may look a little strange or different than your home country. As you meet people throughout your adventure, share recipes and food experiences from home.

Golden Arches round' the world
"Fairly recently Snapchat added a feature where you could add geofilters (tags based on where you are located in the world). I wanted to leave each place with a unique souvenir and through Snapchat I was able to create my own memories. I took a picture at every McDonald's that I went to in 10 different countries."
