Ouachita students typically didn't take the summer as time off. Instead, most took it as a time to learn about life and experience adventures.

This May, students and teachers throughout the Huckabee School of Education will be touring, traveling and learning throughout five different states as part of the new USA Education Tour. “We already offer an international trip through our partnership with Liverpool Hope University in London. We had a vision to also offer a domestic trip and this May will be the first time for this to take place,” Dr. Rachel Pool, assistant professor of education said.

Those who had the heart to travel the world and experience new cultures were in good hands when it came to Ouachita’s study abroad program. The Grant Center of International Education provided opportunities with universities in 14 different countries including Australia, Austria, China, Costa Rica, England, France, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Morocco, Scotland, South Africa and Spain, as well as the European Study Tour in the summer and the Hands On Missions Program.

Emily Long, a junior business administration major from Hot Springs, learned first-hand about the
importance of the mission field as she spent 55 days of her summer traveling and spreading the gospel to Japanese college students in Nagoya, Japan.
